Lion king is now 20 minutes late in starting. Win! Sure, they don't have the recliner seating that most theaters have nowadays, but their movie selection and ticket prices are worth it! They host different fun events which are all great. An absolute gem. Customer called from his seat, I walked down and they seemed surprised it hadn't started. I don't know how long this AMC has been around for or whether it's undergone any renovations recently, but it looks and feels as good as new! The prices are lower than most mega-plex chain theaters, it's located in a sweet neighborhood and has a parking lot! Clean, spacious seats, love the film they show during previews that tells the history of the building.. Featuring showtimes, theater information, movie info, trailers and more! Go into the big theater and feel like you're seeing a stage play or go upstairs into a small theater and try to get the first row of the balcony.

Phenomenal movie and loved seeing it in such an intimate setting. Of all the Cleveland Cinemas, it's the small, more historic gem that I don't consider to be anywhere close in comparison to their other big box playing theaters. The management at Capitol Theatre said they don't give escorts to people and the police won't respond unless it's an emergency. They sell beer! I love how you can always get a ticket and don't have to worry about a bunch of teenagers running around on a Friday night. "Don't you just love that brand new theater smell? Visited the Capitol for the first time last night to see the Bette Davis/Joan Crawford classic "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane." Great little theater - $7 tickets before 5:00.
Glad we chose this theater. Movie Theaters. Beer, wine, in a theater? Had a great time w/the family. Not enough to make me stop going, but it's definitely noticeable to someone like me who tries to sit dead center whenever possible.
My complaint is Capitol Theater management was not kind nor flexible nor resourceful nor courteous towards one of their patrons. I have seen both modern and classic movies here, but I definitely prefer to see the classics. But I must admit, even though I love it, I'm not expert on movie popcorn. Even though it's not as comfortable as those new fancy, upgraded theaters. Classically-inspired architecture has been restored, but with all the amenities of 21st century technology, featuring all-digital projection and 3D capabilities. I think it makes the show a little better. And no mall rats to bother us! I'm constantly checking the Cleveland Cinemas website to see what kind of special events the Capitol is hosting. The staff was very welcoming, they have alcohol at the concession stand, and the bathrooms were clean. So, you can go to one of the new spots and fall asleep watching a Nicholas Sparks rip-off or you can go to Capitol and see a film that might win some awards.

The seats are not the most comfortable, but what else would you expect? Originally built in 1921, the Capitol Theatre was a vaudeville and silent film house at the center of Gordon Square community life. The main theater downstairs is just lovely. We were able to use our ATT&T Tuesdays and get one ticket for free. More Info.
