As the Fring-Salamanca war continues to escalate, Gus clearly has enough on his plate already without addressing the need for a new team of engineers and the return to construction. Saul has his secretary Francesca masquerade as a law enforcement official to make Hank believe his wife has been severely injured in a car accident. Kim convinces Jimmy to let her help him fight Chuck's plot. The two visit Ted at home, order him to write the check, and tell him they'll be staying until it clears.

After being recognized by Jeff, Gene panicked to the point that he called Ed Galbraith to give him a new identity again, but decided at the last minute to fix it himself rather than going through with the extraction, indicating that he has retained some of his old self and has finally had enough of running and living in fear. Jesse tries to have Saul take the $5 million Jesse made stealing a trainload of methylamine and distribute it to Kaylee and the parents of Drew Sharp, a young boy whom cartel minion Todd Alquist killed during the theft.
The night before Jimmy and Chuck head to HHM to deliver the case, Chuck secretly goes outside and uses Jimmy's phone to call Howard.
