Timed button pressed would let some characters take a second swing at the enemies, and the summon spells (once you figured out which ones they were) were easily as impressive as those in Final Fantasy.
Shadow Madness was developed and produced in the USA, although, beyond any doubt, the Final Fantasy series has been the main source of inspiration here. Disk 1: To re-create an eyesore of this caliber would truly take effort. To start, the game features the most heinous character art in an RPG. Shadow Madness' story is fairly dark, although it has its fair share of humorous dialog and situations.
Other character designs include an old man's head atop a floating dinner plate, and a fat woman with cheesy cyberpunk-like sunglasses. Attention! The world is huge there is a lot of items to pick up. The next chapter in Final Fantasy takes the series to the next level. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who wants to immerse them selves into a new world and put a good 30 or more hours of game play into another game (the side quest will keep you busy). When you go up levels, spells are generally handed out in groups of three, resulting in an extremely long list of spells in a small battle window, wasting valuable time in the pseudo-real-time battles. Deep, epic, involving storyline. Shadow Madness is truly hideous to behold in its own right - even worse when compared with the RPG masterpieces it seeks to emulate. DISCS VG! Pick this game up if you like RPGs and could use a good laugh. With no known cure, it strikes without warning, leaving behind vile creatures and piles of dust where its victims once stood. As a young teen I had trouble reading, but this game had a subtle sense of dark humor that kept me interested. This American-made game is overlooked for a lot of reasons.

Shadow Madness is a great RPG by Crave (the same people who made jade cocoon) fun game play great storyline and crappy graphics...compared to now. Stinger is a, er... "colorful" caricature of FF7's Cloud, sporting a natty ponytail, a cute little red vest and a big sword. The fantastic world of Arkose is under siege. Now I'm back for revenge as an adult! The pre-rendered backgrounds are nice. New in Box. Attempting to stray from the current trend of polygonal world maps, Shadow Madness instead uses a truly bleak, crayon-drawn series of 2D maps with no detail or visual appeal whatsoever. DISCS VG! The combat, while laden with a bunch of oddly named spells, was easily on par with Final Fantasy. Although it all seems like a typical Japanese RPG, it is not.
