The blues junior is like the one in the pic.

Now I am in my mid 30's and mostly record at home or jam with the guys once and a while! You would also get the added bonus of a pretty decent tremelo.

or a princeton reverb? Am about to buy a new amp, am between those two and I really can't decide .What do you suggest? I actually wnet with the Blues Deluxe.

I'd vote for the C-30 because it's better built and has more options, plus a wider range of tone, cleaner at higher volume and still can crunch pretty good. Did they stop making them?

They were okay, ran too hot, did a bias mod to one of them it was frying tubes in only a few months, and a few other things went wrong too. I know that it's not a straight ahead comparison, but if … One's an overpriced, crappy sounding 15 watt single channel amp, the other is a very good sounding 30 watt two channel amp that's well regarded as one of the best amp values out there.   Pasted as rich text. in this case i chose the fender but the cheap tubes lasted 3 months see my other post "fender crapping out" i dont know what the peavey uses.but fender does not have the quality they used to.

Well I want to buy whatever I buy from http://www.dv247.com/ which prices is so low but it doesnt have the delta blues amp.I would buy from another shop but it's too expensive.. And like someone said, add an ext cab and it gets huge, What about c15 ?I cant afford the c30 plus I want it to be as much portable as possible and I also want to play with it at home and not get arrested. classic 30 more headroom,great rock amp.but i think the fender reverb is better sounding.but as for gigging the peavey wins hands down imo.i used a classic 30 w/412 ext cab for hundreds of gigs and never failed me. Classic 30. Ditto. Despite what some say, I get great Rock tones from my amp.

To start viewing messages, Traded it for a Pro Jr. and like it better, tone and cleans are better. The Peavey is certainly more versatile stock for stock if you aren't using pedals.
I have a micro cube and as a practice amp I am astounded how good the little thing sounds. Did I read a thread the other day about the AC15's reverb being poor?

Plenty of headroom and it can get a ton of gain (sorry, teh br00talz) with a tube screamer in front of it.

My buddy has a Blues Jr and it doesn't touch the gain or saturation of the Peavey, BUT, the peavey does as good cleans as the fender IMO, so I'd go with the peavey for versatility. I own a classic 30 and I like it much better than any Blues Jr. Joined: Apr 22, 2008 Location: Indianapolis. These can be purchased new for $550 and worth the money from features and tone! I had the all the knobs cranked and same on the guitars and it just sounded really loud. Much more versatile amp that the junior.

I'm really pleased with my Classic 30. Princetone it's too expensive for my budget and I didnt really like the 2x10 speaker of delta blues.Now about, ac15 dont know it's more expensive and to my ears it does what the others do but it also weights more.

But my personal bias would be for a Crate V series.

The only thing that got it growling a little bit was some old Les Paul and even then it wasn't very creamy. the last time I checked they were still made in the USA not Mexico like the new Jr's. The cleans are on par with the jr., and the gain channel is great for mid to low gain rock blues stuff. It was a nice sounding amp but again very different from a blues jr. thin p.c. For the headroom, if nothing else - the Blues Jr. won't be able to put out clean sounds at a sufficient volume if there's a drummer present at all. I've never used the Peavey Classic 30, but I can tell you that I stopped looking for amps when I got my Blues Junior. I've played all three a couple times now and have listened to a bunch of YouTube reviews but am doing a poor job of just deciding on one. Or better yet do like I did and get one of the older USA made V1512's used. Maybe with different pedals or a speaker change. Classic 3- is nice, not a huge difference in Volume and lots of people have good things to say about them. or a princeton reverb? It would probably be my second choice though. This page was generated at 12:53 PM. I love my Blues Jr. more and more each day - but then again, I like the Blues and this baby was made for the Blues. I played the Peavey a few times.

It does have nice cleans,...I'll give it that,...but it's cleans aren't really too much better than Vox or Crate. I looked hard at both the Peavey Classic 30 and The Blues Jr. Now I am in my mid 30's and mostly record at home or jam with the guys once and a while! As for the Classic 30 I don't really have any experience. A speaker swap makes them even better, esp the Peavey.


Not to hijack this thread but I was a Peavey Classic 50 fan/player all through the 90's. It's just that these 2 amps were the best to find around that budget if you have something better to suggest go on and do it!

I've owned 2 Jr's and I say; "owned" for a good reason, turned up I couldn't get the cleans I wanted. (if you havent put the blue bulldog speaker to it). And! I have a Classic 20 head/cab combo and love it and played with a guy who had a Classic 30 combo. Posts: 1,476. I had a number of strats and teles plugged into that thing and I could not get it to break up.

Based on this, I think the Peavey would take pedals a bit better than the BJ. Those are very different amps.   You cannot paste images directly. They have great clean tone and the dirt is amazing. and I didnt really like the 2x10 speaker of delta blues. Forget the Vox aint as good as the Jr's or the C-30.

Can you tell me a little more?

I've played an AC15 and it was nice but I didn't like either the cleans or the distortion as much as my Crate.
