At least Paris Hilton was killed in that one, though it was probably equally as ridiculous. It's a disturbing and raw, yet classy and thought provoking film which will leave you terrified, and looking over your shoulder as you leave the theatre wondering if you could be next. However, I didn't really know the why but I kind of guessed that as well. Love the production designs. My biggest question about the movie....How in the hell did the producers get two time Best Director Oscar nominee, Roland Joffe (The Killing Fields) to direct this horrible movie? It's pretty much downhill from there, and he certainly hit rock bottom in 2007, when he apparently didn't get a better gig than torture porn. Kim Bauer didn’t survive the cougar in 24 season 2 just to put up with this shit! As it stands, it feels like little more than a low-rent 21st Century-themed rip-off of Misery. That's the mystery.". This may as well have been a Lifetime movie with gore. I didn't like it the first time I saw it and I didn't like it any better this time. Everyone wants her. Whatever, I only watched it at the time (at my boarding school,like a year and a half ago, on IFC) because I thought Elisha Cuthbert would take her shirt off...Elisha Cuthbert never takes her shirt off. The basic plot is a model that is captured and tortured by a killer and meets another person while held captive. I guess that the number 3300 is the maximum for a letterboxd list. Easily one of the worst films I have ever seen. When the movie finally starts to wind down my suspicions were correct of who was doing this to her. She's very good, whether it's in something like "The Girl Next Door," where's she an emotionally suffering porn actress, or "Captivity," where she spends most of 85 minutes in fear for her life, preyed upon by a big fat psycho.
