I mean, come on. Seriously? I've hung on from the "Kryptonite villain of the week" episodes all the way to last season's "will someone please drop a truck on this Clark/Lana thing", but I gotta tell ya, the ice is getting mighty thin this season.
Lana: "We're in Kansas, Madelyn." We know that Clark is a virgin, but now we know that Lana is one as well (guess we can see where this is going to lead -- eventually).

Back in Smallville, Lana has maxed out her credit card to purchase this same book and inadvertantly unleashes it's magic, causing her to be possessed by her ancestor. The box reappears when they turn to go into the barn.

It's obvious what he was talking about... this season it seems like Millar and Gough have been tapping teen porn spam for some of their ideas for particular scenes. Not sure that's entirely credible.
When the hooded one (the leader) finally shows her face, she turns out to be Kristen Kreuk playing her own ancestor. It goes like this: Lana has an ancient ancestor named Countess Margaret Isabel Thoreau who was burned at the stake, along with two other women, on the count of being witches in the 1200s. They had better tie these threads together pretty soon or I'll bet they'll start losing viewers despite all the spicy scenes they've added this season. Lana Lang: I am not a huge fan of Lana's, but she is fun when she breaks out.The whole virginity thing is the what I find slightly silly. Smallville: Spell. Long before he started writing online, he has always been a huge Sci-Fi fan - starting with "The Twilight Zone" and "Outer Limits" when he was still too young for kindergarten, graduating to "Star Trek" reruns in the 70’s and of course fully initiated by the original "Star Wars." About the only saving grace in this episode were the couple of scenes in which Lex appears, which are stellar as usual.

Clark, with his vast experience of people being taken over by others, even having been controlled himself?
We learn here that Clark's powers are susceptible to magic (which I believe does follow the comic book), and at one point he is relieved of his powers by Lana/freaky witch chick. I hereby invoke Billie's eighth rule of television: any episode that starts with burning people at the stake is going to suck. However, the evil Countess is not done wrecking havoc yet. Magic, like Kryptonite, can actually hurt Clark. A one-stop shop for all things video games. The first signs of this appeared during an interview with Tom Welling where he commented about the amount of skin being shown this season. I have a hard time with that. Lex is by far the most interesting character on the show.
