When the Vue Cinema on the Oracle Riverside in Reading was first built I was amazed. At the prices they charge you should be getting cream and biscottis as a minimum!On top of that the whole place from the foyer to the toilets looked run down and in need of a facelift. Now I don’t now if this is true or the staff could not be bothered looking in the storeroom, but it is certainly the first time I have been to place that sells coffee that doesn’t have sweetener as an option. Lastly, whilst the 'Economy' seating is a relatively reasonable price, the cost of snacks and drinks is ridiculous, and there are no options for people with specific dietary requirements either. paid in full for two tickets , to then be told after if I book on line its £4.99 instead of me paying £5.99.. We got it after one hour of trying and reasoning with the staff who were totally Unreasonable and unhelpful and v relunctently refunded is so that we could see the move at Westfield Shepherds Bush where I will be going from now on. As a mature couple we do not look like we would get to be inebriated before the film started. Due to Covid on arrival place very bare which was expected . When we went in we missed quite a bit of the movie as they decided to show it early. The guy was rude and knew nothing about customer service. It was evident that even his colleagues couldn't believe his behaviour. We left and asked for our money back. We didn’t buy any food or drink cos we took our own, the prices for food and drink were high but the cinema ticket is cheap I guess. I've waited for over an hour and refreshed it numerous times and yet nothing. We booked in advance so we managed to get VIP seats.

They charged me double for my tickets, but when you call them the automated service doesn't even allow you to talk to anyone, it and you a link to a page that is supposed to open a chat with a member of staff but doesn't. The person behind the bar who I assumed was the manager as he was the only one who was smartly dressed sent me to the other end of the counter dismissively to the popcorn machine . Vue Cwmbran is a smaller venue and thusly the cleanliness and orderliness of the place is likely higher than in comparison with some of the larger Vue locations out there. Just a shame that some screens aren’t cleaned thoroughly between viewings.

Tried to book an online ticket multiple times however there website kept coming up with an error... The young man then said he couldn't serve me as there were 45 minutes until the start of the performance and he could only serve me when there were 30 minutes to go!!! Last time I visited , my friend and I queued for 35 mis for drink/popcorn , staff informing us that actual film would not have started. Really poor sound system prioritising dumb volume over quality. This cinema is a joke and a waste of time, i booked tickets over a week ago that my friend and i was very excited to watch! You're not being held to ransom or being refused the basic right to make a choice, so the attitude needs to be addressed! The accomodations, while eclectic in color scheme, were immaculate and thoughtful. As a result I have lost out on my booking and money and would recommend to look at alternative cinema chains due to the dreadful customer service if you do encounter an issue. A little odd since I had just walked down two flights of stairs to order on their instructions. Also: 30 damn minutes of mindless advertising and guff before the film starts (again at ear-splitting volume). Always stale. I'm sure most cinema chains do the same, but I go to Vue. Sheila has given up her fight with the local govermental authority vis-a-vis being granted the ability to use her beautiful industrial kitchen and serve breakfast, but it's no matter because well within walking distance is a perfect breakfast spot for a full-on "fry up" with "coffee" for ~4-5 GBP until 1600! Comfortable bed with lovely linens appropriate to season. Coffee stand did not have even the basics you would expect.
